My dream is to write a book. I never really thought it could be a possibility until I began writing my blog a year ago.
Writing was something I always enjoyed, more so in Secondary school as part of our cirriculum was to write essays. I was that teenager who ran home to write that essay , it didn’t bother me if it was a Friday afternoon. I’d sit down to draft my essay as soon as I got home. My mother used to laugh “you know you have more subjects Geraldine, don’t you?”
I knew and I didn’t care. English and surprisingly Math were my subjects and I enjoyed both of them equally. English a tad more if I’m totally honest.
I had grand plans to become a script writer after leaving school but as we all know now, life can thrown us some curveballs.
I eventually enrolled into a few creative writing courses which I really enjoyed. I enjoyed them far more than I had thought I would and my love for writing was reignited!
A few years later; and I am here writng this for you guys to read.
I have been writing publicly now for just over a year and honestly I am humbled by the response from readers all over the world- Thank you seems so insufficient.
But; I will say it “Thank you, you wonderful, supportive readers”
Yesterday, I printed off my manuscript for my book- even typing that sounds surreal ! I still have a lot of work to do on it but it is a start , having it in my hands to work with.
I don’t think I would have had the confidence to try this without you guys, that’s the honest truth.
So I just wanted to thank you and to also let you know that I have been long listed for two awards in the Littlewoods Irish Blog Awards- one for ‘Best Blog Post’ ( which you can read here ) and for ‘Best Parenting Blog’ – again that’s down to you guys- you are the ones who make It’s Me & Ethan work and drive me to write more and do more.
I will keep you guys up to date with the book and the awards ;
Thank you all so so much ,
You can check out LittleWoods Ireland and all they have to offer here

I’m sure your book will be awesome, you have a way of writing that can make the reader either laugh or cry and sometime both at the same time. Best of luck with the book.
Hurrah! I KNEW you had a book in you 🙂
Aww, thanks Sandra, watch this space, and thanks for reading!!
Follow that dream. Along the yellow Brick Road and Fly.
Thanks Basil, one step at a time and we’ll get there!! Thanks for reading!!
